A centrifugal sieve is a widely used machine in the food industry that is used to sieve products in a very efficient way based on particle size. In addition to metal detection, the centrifugal sieve on a production line is often also classified as a Critical Control Point (CCP). The quality of the product leaving the sieve is consistent and unwanted product, including foreign parts, are discharged through the sieve. The applications of centrifugal sieving are very broad. For example, they are used for sifting flour, sugar, powders, and other ingredients.

The operation of the centrifugal sieve is as follows. The raw material is fed in at the top and transported into the sieve via screw conveyor. The paddle blades then push the product forward and throw it out at high speed. The particles that are equal to or smaller than the mesh size fit leave the sieve on the good product side, but larger particles and any contamination are removed.

The sieve is made entirely of stainless steel and has a surface treatment for a surface roughness below 0.8 µm. Due to the direct drive on the shaft, fewer wearing parts are required and the service life is therefore longer. In addition, the sieve is of course equipped with safety sensors, including sieve basket detection and sensors on the door and hatches. Our centrifugal sieve is very pleasant to use because the sieve basket is supported by slides so that inspection or changing of a sieve basket can be carried out in an ergonomic manner.
